Visiting the Intrepid

Over the Memorial Day weekend, we decided to go to the Intrepid Museum since it was also Fleet Week with visiting vessels. One disappointment though, was he couldn't go inside the submarine. There was an age requirement (6 years & up) even though he surpassed the height requirement by more than 4 inches! Devin had so much fun, he cried when we had to leave after almost 4 hours of fun. But we promised him we'd bring him back!

Even Serena was enjoying the day. She didn't want me to hold her hand and decided just to walk along the flight deck on her own by holding onto the wired fence.

Picture Perfect

Devin's school has undergone some renovations on the first floor lobby. And through out the school, pictures were taken from every grade & hung on the walls. We were told pictures would be taken but didn't know they would be displayed. So a few weeks ago when I went to pick Devin up from school, I was pleasantly surprised to see his picture right by the front entrance!

When we go to birthday parties, Serena is still too little to participate in any of the activities. So I usually just take her hand & we walk around & around where there is space. As you can tell from the pictures below, she loves it!

Once Spring arrived, it marks the season for parties. I love it because it means Devin gets entertained & Serena gets showered with attention & Andrew & I get a little break. Even if it's just for minutes, I'm grateful. Below are pictures from 3 different parties.

Pictures From April

Here are some pictures from last month which I did not get a chance to post. They're mostly from Easter week & our unexpected trip to Florida. Despite of everything, the kids had fun. Especially Devin, he was following his cousins around, from dawn to dusk. He even wanted to sleep in their beds!

There was one picture I wish I had taken when we were all in Andrew's parents bedroom bathroom & its adjoining walk in closet when a tornado was passing through. They have a special radio with warning alarm that goes off with instructions. It was telling us to take cover on that particular morning after an alarm went off. We stayed in the bathroom & closet for about 15 minutes, the tornado completely missed us, just brought in lots of rain & high winds. Then we came to find out later that the rest of the people in the county, the native Floridian didn't even blink an eye.
